I am considering purchasing either a 2012 or 2013 Rumblefish Elite in the used market. Both bikes are about the same price. In reviewing specs and geometry online, it appears that the difference between the 2 bikes is the fork, Crankset and wheels. The geometry is listed as being identical.
The 2013 has a Fox Evo 32 Float DRCV with CTD while the 2012 came witha a Fox Float 32 RL DRCV.
Both bikes have a M552 crank but the 2013 has a 24t little ring while the 2012 has 22t.
The 2013 has Bontrager Duster wheels and the 2012 has Rythym Elites.
First, I'm wondering if y'all are aware of other differences that I haven't been able to locate online?
Then, I'm hoping for some trail ride impressions of each. For example, I've seen (here and other places) that the CTD has some issues and may not be an upgrade over the prior year fork. Is that true? Are the Elites really a lighter/better wheelset over the Dusters?
I have read about every thread I could find on here but am wondering if there are any other considerations before I drop my 2K?
Thanks in advance for any insight you can share.
