    2012 Rumblefish pro to a 2014 Fuel EX 9 29er

Im looking to upgrade my old rumblefish which ive loved to bits , but is getting old and tired to a 2014 Fuel ex 9 which are going pretty cheap right now .

Without having a proper ride on the Fuel yet .

What can i expect to be different or similar between these two bikes and is it a good upgrade ?

    Cheers

I made a very similar switch from a 2013 RF Pro to a 2014 Fuel 9 29er (XT). If you like your 'Fish, you'll love the Fuel! Compared to the RF, the Fuel handles better, is lighter, and offers (at least in my case) a more comfortable riding position.

Though my RF Pro was cool, it always struck me as a heavy long travel Superfly; whereas the Fuel is a fun and playful trail bike that just plain rips. You won't be disappointed with the switch!

Yeah Im also hoping the longer top tube will allow me to run a shorter stem to improve handling without sacrificing reach /comfort .

I run a 70mm stem on the RF but to be honest im more comfortable with a 90mm but I lose handling , so I dont quite get the perfect fit .

Curious to know from anyone who has made the switch from A RF to Fuel 29er . how they found the sizing , if any differences between the two,

I ride a 19 inch RF , cant get a ride on a demo 19.5 Fuel anywhere , and am looking at just taking the punt on it being the right size , no 18.5 available in Australia , were not released here ,

    17.5 and 19.5 only , cheers

I have a 2010 Rumblefish in 19, and I've demo'd the new Remedy's, Fuel's (in 29) and the Slash (27.5) In my experience, the 18.5 felt VERY small in comparison. If you're happy with the 19 you have now, I'd get the 19.5. That felt about the same to me.
I'm looking forward to regretting this.......

My RF Pro was a 19" and I went with the 19.5" Fuel...fits like a glove!

Had my first proper ride on the 19.5 fuel yesterday ,

bike instantly felt like it was a perfect fit , the cockpit has a lot more room which naturally allows a shorter stem , the RF always felt a bit cramped if i put a shorter stem on it .

and the bike itself feels much more nimble than the RF.

Nice one! I made the switch from a Superfly FS to the Fuel Ex8 and love the Fuel. Just a great all round fun trail bike.
