    2012 Fuel EX8... good price???

    Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new bike and I've been doing my research trying to get a good price on a bike at our year end bike show. I've called a few shops before I go to the show and I got quoted $1835.00 plus 1.13% tax, so $2073.55 out the door for a brand new one.

What do you more experienced people think, am I going to get a cheaper price at the bike show? or is this a pretty good price for an ex8?

All currencies are in Canadian dollars (CAD)

    Thanks folks.

    Goran

I would say they is a great price on a 2012....most of the shops around here are selling them for $2300 before tax as the closeout price.

I've never been to a bike show, so I have no idea what bikes are selling for at those.

I just bought a Fuel EX8 on Saturday for $2000 at my lbs. I guess Trek had a bunch that weren't ordered.

Hey, when I was calling the shops the one that had the best deal was called Sweet Pete's and it was the location near Dufferin in downtown Toronto... or Mississauga. They had it on for 1865.00 or something similar before taxes. Google them and give them a shout. Nice people.

    Thanks for the info Goran!

Unfortuntely though, Sweet Pete's is out of EX8s @ $1849 + tax. The promotion was a Toronto Bike Show deal to blow out their 2012 stock, so they aren't offering them at that price any longer (even though there are some bikes remaining in Trek's warehouse).

I Tried to persuade my LBS to sell one to me at that price, but it's only $100 above their cost so it was a no go. Ordered a 2013 Superfly AL Elite instead, hanging on to my 2011 EX7
