Smile 2005 Trek Liquid 55 bottom bracket question.

I need to replace the bottom bracket and crankset for this bike, anyone suggest on which one to get.

BTW. what's the bb size on this bike? My LBS said my old one is damage, they removed it and threw it away.

    Thanks

I replaced mine with a 68/73x113. I replaced mine with a RaceFace Evolve FR Bottom Bracket. The liquid has a 68 mm bottom bracket shell, but most bottom brackets will fit both, but will need a spacer on the drive side for the 68mm BB shell. The Evolve bottom bracket, or the Truvativ gigapipe both come with that spacer and are decent bottom brackets.

You could also go with a Shimano LX or XT external bearing crank.

I have the LX on my 2005 Liquid and it's THE BEST bang for the buck out there.

I wound up buying one of those LX External bearing cranks from Price Point a year or so ago for $80. Big upgrade from the stock Bontrager Race crank. Much stiffer and more efficient.
