2001 Sugar 1 and disc brakes?
Can anyone tell me how I could run disc brakes on the rear of an '01 Gary Fisher Sugar 1 Frame? If there are adapters involved can you tell me how well they work? Thanks.
occupation : Foole
I can't say for sure about the '01 Sugars, but I do remember that it's sibling, the '01 Fuel used some kind of half-assed adapter ("Disco" something or other...) to mount it on the rear stays, and then had a problem with it HOWLING, as I understood it (they came up with some bizarro rod attachment to cure the howling....dunno, beings as I'm still runnin' vees, here ) If the Sugar solution was the same as the Fuel, I'd say run disc up front and keep the v-brake on the back....less hassle, and the vast majority of your stopping power's up front anyways...
