    depends on manufacturer

    A 2.3 Continental will fit - a 2.25 geax probably won't.
I have a 2.1 Mitsubishi Superheat in my 2002 Sugar + right now and it barely fits - but Mitsubishi's are HIGH volume. That 2.1 is almost the same size as the 2.5 weirwolf.

It might - but you should check Shiggy's site.

I have the stock IRC Backcountries on mine, and there's still a bit of wiggle room there -about 3/16" on either side at the chainstays, 1/4" at the seat stays. Check out Shiggy's site if you're not sure - http://www.themudzone.com/tire/tire_...ecs/index.html for measurements.

Just rode with a buddy with a 2001 sugar 1, was running a 2.3 conti explorer ust. the thing barely fit under the brake bridge . Wet and muddy conditions and that thing was USELESS. keep the 2.3 on the front and stay with a 2.1 rear.

I think the rear triangles are different between the...

older Sugars and the newer Sugar+'s, so I don't think you can compare the 2 for tire width. Anyone know for sure?

Yes. I ride a 2003 2+, and it will easily fit a conti 2.3 as it does not have the brake bridge that the earlier sugars have. It isn't width that ends up being the problem, it is height.
