Hi everyone. I want to convert my 2013 Fuel Ex 7 rear wheel to a 142X12 through axle. I have found all the frame parts from my LBS but I wanted to check if the standard Duster wheel can also be converted or if I should buy a new one?
U would need to buy new rim cause the the threw axle is alot bigger than the duster rim hole is on the hub.
Look into getting Sun Ringle Expert are good choice cause they come with adapters to convert the front wheel 9mm or 15mm or 20mm. U would need to buy the rear hub adapter for the rear one. these are what u need for the rear. The adapters give u alot of options if u wanna run something different like 20mm front fork u wouldnt have to buy new rims.
Thank you for your reply. If I have to change also the rim then I will skip it for now since the cost is too high (around 95 euros without the rim) and the benefit will be only 10% in stiffness according to Trek.
Yep if your not doing serious drops its not really worth it to change it.
