Ah man, that's dope! Questions: What's up with the AVA anyway? How's it different that the Cane Creek DB? And what was wrong the the DHX A?

Last question: Couldn't you turn the shock around 180 instead?

    She's an Avy Woodie.
"What's up with it?" ... It's a shock that likes being a shock, instead of a paperweight. Built and custom tuned by one guy, who definately knows what he's doing. This one has the seperate high/low compression adjuster, too.

My DHXair decided to become a clunky turd, and Fox decided to not respond to me about warranty, or to even evaluate what went wrong with it. Bad customer service, ensuring that they won't be moving any more product through my shop...

Compared to the DB, they both ride great/identically from what I hear...
I went with what I know. This is my 3rd Avy rear, zero problems whatsoever with the previous ones. I think the Avy is actually cheaper, too.

And the shock fits fine this way, clearance wise. Why run it backwards if it's not needed?
I don't think you could run one of these this way on a small or medium, though, but it suits my purposes...

    Thanks for answering

My shock is the final piece to my BottleRocket puzzle and have been looking at all options. Since my first choice (Roco TST) is still backorded, I've finally decided to go with a 2008 DHX 5.0 coil.

i was too impatient to wait for the roco...plus the dhx is just as good/more tried and true than the roco...both seem awesome though.

i saw a roco mounted on a preston fr at my bike shop and WOW...looks sick

Man, for a bling rig like the BR you should really think about investing in some nice components. Cheap isn't the way to go.

    Just kidding!

That sounds like a phatty build. Post pics!

Hi guys just a question, might be out of place tho, do any of you guys on the DHX 5.0 coil face any problem with play or looseness in the shock bolts. Seems this is a common problem and I am facing it too.

Did you try tightening the bolt? Try tightening it up first, should solve the problem.

Looks GREAT. My green one should be here tomorrow, and I'll get the shock Friday, so it'll be ready to go for the weekend.
