I have a couple queations. I am getting x01 for my 2012 green bandit 29. Opinions on wether the red will clash or just go with the flat black crank and derailleur. An question number 2 anybody have any experience with a cane creek db air to replace the rp23. Im worried about how hard it will be to tune since the dont work with transition and dont have stock tunes. Thanks for any input!

Personally I'd go with the flat black. Regarding the CCDB air question on the bandit. I ran one for a short time on my 2013 B29 and could never get it dialed. I just could never get it in that sweet spot where it felt good on up and downs combined. Granted it was a fantastic shock just not for me as I want set it and forget suspension. I don't want to constantly tinker with something.

Now let me ask you if you have ever looked at Avalanche Suspension? I recently had Craig put his kit in my F34 fork and CTD rear and it is awesome! I believe he also makes a kit for that rp23.

Awesome I'll have to check him out! 600 for a sick is hard to swallow. Especially after I drop a grand on a new drive train, im trying to decide between x01. Or shimano's new 11 speed that is 40-11 and doesnt need a new hub driver. Thoughts?:O I thought getting into mtbikes would be cheaper than motocross! Haha it's worth it tho. Love my bike

I love it! Now if I can just get a 1x set up and get the rear shick shaken out ill be in heaven lol. My first real mountain bike. Coming off a moto background I ride pretty aggressive. Living in midwest strikes a nice balance between huckabilty and pedalling performance

Well, I stopped by my LBS which happens to be CBO and saw a few of these hanging around.
I think it'd look good with my Trans Am.

2012 Bandit Frame with CTD shock.
Going with the X-fusion Trace fork, Stan's Flow/Hope hubs, Xt brakes, 1x10 with a 42t Wolftooth, shimano xt der/shifter, 750 bar with 50mm stem.

I no longer own any 26ers. Sad day, but strava says I'm faster with my 29er hardtail I can't wait to see what I can do with this Bandit.

How much was the frame? They aren't listed on the CBO website. Any XLs left?

Well I finally finished my build and got to ride the Bandit.
Climbed really well for a full suspension. I didn't even need to get on the 42t. The downhills left me with a grin on my face. The bike just felt like it wanted to jump itself on every little bump possible.
Found some great deals especially on the Fox Fork (thank you Pike for driving the price down.) I had the 2013 Fox Float and the 2014 has improved quite a bit.
Still waiting on Wolftooth to release that 16t. The Shimano XT 16t I tried to get from CBO has been backordered till August. Shifting from 15-19 is rather harsh but it works.
31 lbs! If I used an SLX/XT crankset I'm sure I could've saved around 300g and Nobby Nic tires would've been another 500g, but I'm not a weight weenie!
Thanks Transition for making such a Fun Bike!

Good lookin' bike. I built mine almost two years ago and it's a fun bike. A monster truck on the trails I ride here in South Texas. Roots and rock gardens...EAT MY SHORTS!
Let's make like a Bike and get the Huck outta here...

Transition Bandit 29 photo thread-096.jpgFor all you Bandit29er guys (2012 and current)...I've noticed that like 90% of the people on this thread, including myself have a Fox fork. I've been considering the Pike 140mm just to try something new. So just looking for any feed back from anyone who's coming off a Fox (like a 34, or whatever) and now is riding a Pike with some good trail time for comparison.

I just got both my RP23 and 34 Float serviced and actually dropped the air pressure down a bit in both, and the bike is better than ever...so pretty happy with my current setup, but just wondering what others experiences have been with the Pike.

Thanks, I'm really happy with it.
    Not crazy!
I am really tall. 6'4", and super long arms.
I came off riding a Spec Stumpy FSR. The Stumpy had a longer top tube measurement than the Bandit, so I chose to put the 80mm stem on instead of a 60mm that the Bandit would be spec'd with.
In fact, I took those bars (and stem) off the Stumpy. I put the 780mm on thinking I'd cut it down, but I never found the need to cut it.
