    Mt Bandit two9

I had to snap this photo the day I brought it home before I got it all dirty. This bandit is stock with the only upgrade being XO brakes.

Been following this thread for a while now...here are some pics of my bandit being build up to a trailbomb!

initially build up much more XC-oriented...but has nog been setup to be a bit more trailproof with a KS LEV dropperpost and Arch EX wheels instead of the crests

    Oke people,

    I'm 6.2 and around 200 lbs.In comparrisson I have a little shorter legs,inseem 88 cm, and a little longer upperbody.I'm now riding a Banshee Rune V1 from 07 and with a toptube off 609 mm with a 80 mm stem.This feels a little short but very playfull.
I'm wondering if I need a Large or XL bandit 29er.
Can someone give me some advise or share your experience .

    Thank you,

    Marc

After reading up on this thread I figured out that personal choice is the main thing. Some choose a Large where others choose A XL.
Since I'm going to use the Bandit mostly for trail/xc my choice will be a XL.

How do you guys like the Ttansition Revolution wheelset which comes with the bike?

Quick teaser photo till I put together the rest. I've had the bike for less than a month and I absolutely love it. More pics and RR to follow.

    My Bandit

Had to finally post this thing. Almost had it a year and love it. Just bought some carbon wheels and love it even more! This thing seriously rips with the carbon wheels. Accelerates like my 26" again and no more flex. Could be a little lighter but oh well. 28.5 lbs with a tube and water bottle.

A few upgrades for my B29.
Swapped the I9 wheels to my hardtail and put carbon wheels on the Bandit.
Changed the front chainring to 30T.
And best of all, replaced the Fox fork with a WB Loop. Only two rides so far, but the Loop is a really, really nice fork. Very happy with it.

Nice build...I'm curious as to how you got it down to 28.45 lbs

Did you go with 32mm or 34mm forks?

I was kind of surprised it was that light too. And thats with a tube and half water bottle! I'm running a rockshox reba so 32mm stanchions. I might take the weight penalty and try a 34 though. Now that I have carbon wheels I am starting to notice flex in the fork and frame more. I do have some light stuff on there though. Roval carbon wheels are crazy light. Specialized tires are decently light and Im running a control casing up front, and I have the XX world cup brakes which are also crazy light. Couple more little things and I think I can get it under 28....

my bandit was down to 27,3 pounds when I first built it. But that was with CB mallets on it, a 32mm 140mm revelation and schwalbe rocket rons in 2.2 (not the most stirdy tire, I know)

Lighter than what I hoped for and I can say this thing is lightning fast on the downhills and through rock gardens (rode Lake Garda last week!)

I changed to 2.4exo ardents and xt trail pedals since the first build... Don't know the new weight.

I figured you might have 32mm stanchions. I went with the beefier 34's and took the hit on weight.

Anyone else in Texas have a Bandit 29? I've only met one other guy her in San Antonio who has one. Never seen him on the trails though.
