    King HS
    XTR crankset
    XTR brakes
    Diety Dirty Thirty Bars

    XO shifter
    Lopes Guide

    WEIGHT W PEDDLES 29 even

This is my first 29er and I must say I am blown away with how well it performs. Did a true AM ride in Ashland Oregon for its shakedown run. Immediately felt like this bike was the best move I have made, and i came from a carbon nomad! Attacks anything in its path and corners like no other! Stoked for this bike to be in my stable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How tall are you guys on XLs? I'm 6-4 and finding an XL to demo isn't really an option. Coming off XL Nomad and Enduro.

That is bad ass. I stuck some lighter wheels on my stock B29. Dropped from 32.1 to 30.5. But they're pinner tires on still stiff wheels (~~~ 1800g wheelset) and the B29 seems to demand lots of meat at least upfront

Yeah LeeL!!! I did the same thing for my local xc race...1800g wheelset and xc race tires...they are supper pinner, but I was surprised that they still work on my local super-d track! couple of times the front wheel skipped or got off line, but still was able to ride them hard and make corrections if needed. running the renegade in the back and fasttrak in the front (1.95r/2.0f) [control]. skinniest tires I've run in 5 years!

I'm 5'9" on a medium. Sometimes I think I should have gone with a large. I think the medium would be perfect if I was 5'7" or 5'8"

    Hey guys some bad news

I have to sell my new large pewter Bandit 29.... It's a gut wrenching decision- financial stuff, I'll end up buying another Bandit as soon as I get back on my feet. I'm asking 3G. It's stock except I upgraded the bars to Cromag Fubars, brakes to Shimano XT's. The tires are Spec purgatory 2.4, spec captain 2.2. Set up tubeless. The only frame blemish is when a dirty chain got chain sucked one time.

PM me if you have any questions or offers, I'll be posting an add tomorrow along with my Spec Demo 7

Edit* I may be able to keep the Bandit!!!

Sorry to hear you have to sell. Shouldn't have any trouble finding a seller now that TR is sold out of em. Good luck on buying your bike back soon!

I'm 6-0, coming off a large Nomad, and riding a large bandit 29 now with 70mm stem. Hope that helps a bit.

I'm 6'3 Moved from a 26" L frame to a 29" XL frame because I felt I needed an XL bike, handling is just as good and the bike feels fine.

I could still ride a L frame now but it wouldn't be ideal for my xc stuff, having the smaller bike is always going to be fun on the downhills but my XL is perfect for everything.

I ride a 70mm stem, seat post in optimal height for racing/climbing (thank you reverb) etc and 40mm rise 710mm bars with a bit of sweep. I also have a bizarre saddle (ism adamo peak).

Got my first two rides in on my B29 this weekend. No photos yet. Final build came to a hair over 29 lbs. It climbs as well as my Jet 9 and the downhill? Lets just say I had more "airtime" in two rides than a Paris Hilton sex video gets on Youtube.

Still need the 142 x 12 axle for my hub (and new bearings, both on order), a chainguide and a dropper post, but it's pretty much rideable for now. Specs:

    Black XL frame
2011 Reba RLT Ti fork, 140mm, 20mm thru axle
Avid Elixir 5 brakes (for now), 185/160
    SLX crankset, bash/36/24
SRAM X-9 shifters and rear derailleur
    XT front derailleur
    SRAM 990 cassete, 11-34
    SRAM PC99 chain
Answer Protaper riser, 29" wide, 2" rise
    Truvativ XR stem, 75mm
    FSA headset
Truvativ Stylo Team post (will eventually be replaced with a dropper post)
    WTB Silverado saddle
    King/Arch rear wheel
    X-9/Arch front wheel
    Renegade 2.35 front tire
The Captain 2.0 rear tire (to be replaced with something larger when it wears out)
    Time ATAC XS pedals

Most if not all parts came off my Jet 9, hence the XC-ish nature of the build. However, considering that most of my rides involve at least 1500 feet of climbing minimum, keeping the weight down was a premium over the burliness of the build. Very surprised how nimble the ride is considering the length of the wheelbase of the XL, but there's no way I could fit on a large - my knees would hit the handlebar on every pedal rotation on a large. So far, so good. Pics to come.

No posting until it's more complete - axle, post and Blackspire chainguide. And fix the cable routing - it's a mess. And, you just want to borrow it for a ride. I know you too well, B4X.

    Quick update to this.

Killed the front SRAM RIse 40 wheel, so fitted the e*thirteen TRS+ wheelset and Hans Dampf tyres. Very worthwhile upgrade, the wheels are very stiff, track amazingly well, accelerate great and transform the feel of the bike

Sweet. Look forward to hearing how the wheels hold up! Are the decals removable?

Thanks! The decals look pretty firmly affixed, but to be fair they look better in the flesh.....especially rotating

I'll post an update on the wheels' durability once I've thrashed them for a while....

scored this pinkbike special a couple of weeks ago and so far it's been all smiles. took a few rides to adjust to the shorter-than-usual top tube but the benefits of the shorter wheelbase were felt almost immediately. Still not sure if I'll keep the angleset in there (currently HA is 68) as I do an equal amount of climbing and descending and the stock 68.5 would likely do the trick but I'll see.

Fork: 2012 Fox Float 34 RLC Tapered w/ 15mm Thru Axle, 140mm travel
Headset: Cane Creek Angleset w/ .5 degree reducer cup for a 68 degree head angle

Tires: Bontrager XR4 Team Issue 2.35, set up tubeless
Brakset: Shimano XT M785 Icetech Rotors

Saddle: WTB Deva w/ Ti rails
    Seat Clamp: Salsa quick release
    Handlebar: Salsa Whammy Bar 780mm width x 0 rise x 31.8
    Stem: Thomson 70mm/31.8
Crankset: FSA K-Force Carbon w/ 29tt single ring, Ceramic bottom bracket
