    Transam 29 parts

Any advice on finding parts for used TransAm 29 that I paid for this morning?

I can't find a 32.8mm seatpost clamp anywhere, the closest is this 32.0 Chromag (which looks nice)

Also I'm 6'4" tall with a +3" Ape Index (climber speak for a 6'7" wingspan), what length stem would you recommend? The stock bike comes with a 60mm stem, I'm coming from the xc world where 100mm has always been standard for me.

Also I can't figure out which headset to order, I emailed Transition and haven't heard anything back, and I would like to order it today!

Will this fit: Amazon.com: Cane Creek 40-Series Zerostack Short Cover Complete for 44mm Head-Tube (1-1/8-Inch Straight Steerer), Black: Sports & Outdoors

The TransAM seatpost clamp is an odd size. The only place that I found one is the Transition web store. That may be your only source.

As for your headset, go to the Cane Creek website and use their headset finder. Plug in your frame, head tube size etc and it will show you the Cane Creek headset that fits. And you can buy it right from them directly.

    Hope this helps.

DKG makes a nice 33.0mm clamp. Had it on my old TransAM.

The TransAM doesn't really use a tapered headset per say. More like the 44mm standard.

Thank you, I ended up ordering the CC 40 series ZS44, but the box got damaged by fedex part-way!!!

The guy I bought the bike from threw in a CC angleset with both the 1 and .5 degree topset. I put the .5 in for now. I'll see how it feels. A lot of bikes have 68 degree headtubes, right?

I also ordered a seatpost clamp from Transition, them goofballs put the clamp in a huge box instead of a small packing envelope. It also took 2 weeks to get it, BS IN(Not so)HO.

I ended up ordering a 12x135 mm hope rear conversion instead of the 142, which I should be getting today. So hopefully I'll finally get to ride this thing!!!
