    Trans-AM29er build idea

Thinking about building one single speed and using a Surly Kranpus fork and 29er+ tire and 50mm rim on the front of it, whats this biggest tire/rim you can make fit in the rear triangle of this frame?

link to the fork specs: Krampus Fork | Parts | Surly Bikes

rim: Rabbit Hole | Parts | Surly Bikes

    tire: Knard 29 x 3 | Parts | Surly Bikes

Thanks for an beta that could be shared

I'm on the road at the moment, but when I get home next week, I can mount up a WTB Dissent 2.5x29 and a Minion DHF 2.9x25 on my KH Uni rim with an internal width of 31mm. At that point I can measure how much room is left with each tire on my 2013 TA29 and I can also give you a total outside width for each tire. What psi do you want the tires inflated to? That, or get your hands on a Knard and send it to me to test fit and measure it for you on my KH rim.

I do know that a Dissent 2.5 at 24psi on a MTX 33 rim, 26mm internal, fits fine in the back but I never measured the clearance.

I have been thinking about running a Knard rigid up front on my TA29 also...

I think Krampus fork with RH/knard will be a great rigid for option for frames built for 100+mm travel forks.

i was thinking of this idea just last night! stripped down my ta29 to build a fully, and have slowly been piecing a build kit together. but i'm still missing a front wheel, and feel like this might be fun project. will be interested in your build and impressions if you go this route sts. have you priced it out?

edit: doing a bit of digging and i found at least one reviewer has tried a krampus front end... and there's a guy selling a front wheel and tire in eastern canada
