    Smuggler or Scout

Just wanting a opinion on whether or not to go with the smuggler or the scout. How much is a difference is the 10mm of travel on front and back between the two? And will the 29er wheels make up for it? Kinda new to this so just looking for some advice!

I think question is more do you want a nimble bike to pop, cut, and jump, or a bike that plows and steamrolls over everything. Wheels on the ground majority of the time, go 29er, wheels off the ground, go scout. Overall, if you were do a race of some sort, the smuggler would probably be a faster bike, scout would feel faster. I'm a fan of both, can't go wrong either way. The new Geo for 18 is very similar to my Process 153, and a short travel, more efficient version of that bikes that retains all the downhill stability makes me excited.

Yep, you can't go wrong. Also, consider how aggressively you ride, the Scout comes with a a slacker head angle, 36mm fork instead of 34, and a piggyback shock. So if you're leaning more towards general trailriding, smuggler. If you're leaning towards more jumps and drops, maybe Scout. But again, you really can't go wrong. And they're both plenty burly. There is a lot of overlap between the bikes in the Transition line up.

Thanks for the replies. Leaning towards the Scout. Im still pretty new but once I get some more confidence I would like to do some jumps and drops.
