I hope the 2014's don't take too long to come out.
I was just told by my LBS that Transition
Has the amber color only in the medium covert.
Please transition hopefully some matte colors
For the 26 aluminum covert??? This sucks I was wanting
To get one soon as I just saw one in person today for the first
Time. What a bad ass bike. Come on Transition help a brother out.

You don't like the TR250? I want one with a totem on the front.

I ride a YT-TUES right now but I really miss the light feel the Blindside had. I think the TR 250 is to heavy to make a real difference to a DH-Bike.

650b bandit + transam - not sure what that would mean for the 26" model as i imagine they'd keep the 29's.

hoping to see some major changes to the tr450 but i doubt it as TR seem to be putting their effort into the enduro scene right now.

actually i'm pretty keen to know if any of the new transams or bandits will have stealth routing for dropper posts..? Nothing uglier than having dropper post housing dangling around

Ever seen the fork known as "lefty". Tell me that's not uglier than a dropper cable and a slap, will be dealt (I'm crazy brave on the Internet).

Seriously though; Can't you just drill a little hole in the seat tube for stealth?

A carbon bandit with longer TT and shorter head tube is going to be here in August. Only $1666 for the frame, and will have iron maiden inspired graphics. Eddy! Plus free epo.

    Don't think so. I think you'll see a 7"/8" TR450 and no more 250.

Also: 650B Trans Am, Bandit, Covert. I'd like to see the Bandit and Covert get slightly slacker respectively, possibly with adjustable geo.

Stealth routing would be sweet - not a lot of aluminum frames with it, mostly a carbon thing.

I'd like to see TBC use replaceable dropouts on the Bandit/TransAM so they can run 26" and 27".

Pretty sure I read something a fair while back from either Kyle or Kevin saying that they don't want to produce a frame that suits two types of wheels as they feel it is a stop gap solution.

    Yep.

    1) The wheel radius is roughly 12-13mm larger, but the correct 650 fork is an additional 16.5mm taller A-C. You really need more than 12-13mm of offset to bring the BB height back to the correct position due to the higher front end. Once it is back to the correct position, the head angle (and worse) seat angle would be roughly 2 degrees slacker.

    2) The brake position would be wrong. This is obviously a solvable problem with custom brake adapters, but we are not usually fond of proprietary parts.

An adapted bike using a wheel size it was not intended to run will never perform as well as it should, and I would strongly discourage conversions like this.

Also hoping 26 coverts continue. Still love my 09 v2 covert - would hate to think i couldn't get a replacement if anything happened to it.

I don't expect more Carbon from Transition any time soon.

Remember what their brand is built on = reliable frames, if for some reason they do make a bike that does fail (I know the V1 Syrens had some cracking issues), they fully support their customers and replace the frames for them.

I suspect that they learnt a LOT from the V1 Covert. I imagine there's some tweaks in V2 and will be more in V3, by which time they may be ready to take on either a Bandit/450 style frame. Personally I wouldn't be expecting this until 2015 at the earliest. These guys are just too calculated to jump in head first.

My guess is that the first 650B offering from Transition will be an aluminum Covert. I'm thinking that there are a bunch of riders that love HD AM and light FR who will never go to 29er bikes, but will just plain go nuts over a well executed 27.5" offering.

After all, The Ventana El Terremoto is no longer available in 26" and Sherwood is pronouncing that the new 27.5" bike is better in every way.
Abandoned the 26" wheel in May '03

I like to think that TR is stocking their warehouse now with the new 650b frame(s), and that they'll be ready for sale as soon as any news is released.

Someone who wanted to buy a bandit 26" frame got the answer that all frames are sold out in Large and there will not be any more production for 26"
Don´t know if this is true or not.

    rumours on new Bikes 2014

There as many 26/650 160mm bikes as there's ever been! Enduro, Chilcotin, Bronson, SB66, etc

I think a 650b Covert makes good sense.

    650B Bandit 100% guaranteed for 2014.
I am having my 2011 Bandit replaced under warranty with a 2013 sample, and still waiting for one from the USA.
It seems the distributors here in the UK are having difficulty locating a large one in yellow for me. Surely they will not have three sizes of wheel in production......something must give.

Almost sure they will come as 26 as TR told me to wait for the 2014 as they have run out of frames in 26 for my size.

First of all, I'm going to say I'm probably one of the biggest advocates of transition/traitor bikes. I've owned over 30 in my life easily...probably more
    but
I gotta say i'm a little underwhelmed by transition for the past 2 years
    Graphics haven't been good
    Nothing is really new/innovative
    THEY DROPPED THE BOTTLEROCKET!!!!!!

I'm just ready for something new to come out. I took a 2013 Bottlerocket Frame and took a 650b no tubes wheelset with xx1 setup, vivid air, 150mm vengeance, dropper post and full deity. It's been super fast and even without perfect geo(BB is just a bit high) i've been loving it.

I love the new genius lt and would love to see a redesigned covert in that style. I wasn't specifically impressed with the 29er covert. it just didn't feel amazing. I want to see bikes set up for stealth droppers and just find a way to be different again

I want to see Transition go back to their roots and be just the most rad company on the planet.

Owned over thirty and you are complaining about graphics and a ( rattly awkward ) internal dropper post??,
The carbon covert is one of the best looking bikes around....but it looks like you prefer style over substance mate.

Your thought process doesn't make sense. Im more minimalistic if anything...i love their old one color graphics.

I didn't even mention the carbon covert...i think it's a great bike, just not for me(i'm 220). I don't care more about style...that's why i'd like some of the substantial things on the bikes. I would just love to see an aggressive trailbike(more in the bandit type and not covert)150mm-170mm 650b, internal routing, 142 rear, iscg05 tabs..just something a bit bigger and able to jump more

I'm also interested to see if they ever come back with a freeride frame that's better priced.

+1 on an aggressive trail bike, which is what I am hoping the 2014 bandit will bring - something a bit closer to a banshee spitfire!

How do you know the geometry changes are great until you try one?

does this mean that there will be Coverts in 26, 27.5 and 29 or is one wheel size dropped?

more than 20 years of experience in riding MTBs with several geometries?
One Problem with the "old" Geos of Transition was, that if you are around 180cm tall, that "M" is to short an "L" has a too long seattube.
    this is now solved.

Depends on your riding style....i had a medium bandit and found the Medium ok-ish for length, but the seat tube was a little short.
Now the owner of a new large Bandit, i find the top tube length better and the seat tube perfectly sized. One mans meat i suppose!!

i love the redesigns on the trail bikes esp with internal dropper routing and the shorter seattube lengths on the covert!!! they def hit a homerun! and yes i love the graphics so far!
I think this will fix it.

New Covert looks like a good one - wonder what this means for 26 and 29 covert and bandit? Have to think it might be the end for the 26er version of both those bikes?

Not so fast...I definitely haven't sipped the 27.5 Kool-Aid yet. Are these the only new things from Transition for 2014?

    rumours on new Bikes 2014

Edit - bike rumor "article" is pretty much a cut and paste of the info posted earlier in this thread.

The Covert 26 is still available in carbon and alloy. Same 3 sizes there. The 27.B and 29 are both alloy only with an additional XL size.

I knew Transition would prob feel like they had to offer a 650b bike but I'm glade they aren't buying into the 27.5 nonsense to the point of killing the Covert 26

no more Covert 29 und Bandit 26. Covert CF unchanged, Covert AL 26 and 27.5. little bit cheaper (in Germany)
i've just upped some handypics of the catalogue of the german distributor.

Didn't the Covert 29 just come out? They are killing it already?

yes, it was a new Bike for 2013
It's not listed anymore in the catalogue of trailtoys.de, normally they have all bikes from TBC.
    i also couldn't believe it.
    Also missing was the TransAm29
So as it seems, the Bandit is the last 29er in their lineup

The Covert 29 and TransAm 29 are not going away. They will still be offered for 2014 for sure.

Distributors may not carry every frame model, so I'm not sure if they will be available in your country, but they certainly still exist.

    Thanks for pics!
Anyone knows when they start shipping new models? I need a 26 Covert...

The 26 Covert, has it updated geo by the way? Is the 27.5 basically a 26" with different rear triangle?

I'm not a huge fan of the two tone covert. Looks like a warranty build in my mind. I'm sure it still rips, though.

Ha! That's funny, because I think it looks GREAT with a black fork complimenting the black rear triangle. To each, his own, I guess.

There's already so much black on a bike between the tires, fork, cranks derailleur, etc. And those colors are so sick!!! Why not put as much on there as you can?? But as you said, to each their own (Covert 27.5....).
