float 180 reduced to 160 mm will work on covert?

    hey all,

just got my 2012 brand new white covert,

for the build i have a super great deal on a float 180 mm factory!

if i lower the fork to 160 mm, will it work or fu*k up the handeling?

    Happy trails!

According to the Fox Tech drawings for the 180 fork, the A-to-C is 565mm. The fork will slacken the HA a bit and alter the handling accordingly. I think you'll be fine....but what do I know.

Hell! I have a 565mm A-to-C fork (Vengeance) currently on my Bandit and really like it!

if the a2c is 565 and the float 160s a2c is 545 a 20 mm reduction in travel will give the exact a2c of the float 160?

btw...i see some covert builds running x-fusion vengence that has the same a2c of the float 180,

enduroXtreme, if you get this fork - just try it on your covert.
If you like to play on downhill more than uphill sections, you may actually like it

I have put Totem (180mm with 565mm a2c) and felt in love with the new geo so much, that I just lowered the Totem to 170mm (565mm) and ordered offset shock mount hardware.
This bike is sooo much fun

in this case, lowering the Fox to 160mm will keep the perfect balance
