My kid has a nice 24" hard tail with SID fork and disks etc. It weighs 23lbs and is now getting to be more like a dirt jump size. He is in the tweener region as we can't find a good full sups. mountain bike to fit him. The Trek Fuel JR is a good size but the build is weak and it is heavy at 30lbs...and sells at $1700.
I was thinking of a slope style bike with a light fork and wheel set. Double with a SID or Fox float 100mm and some XC wheels. 1x10 with a short crankset. I would like to keep it in the 26lbs range. Any ideas?
