Custom Rocker for Transition Covert 2010 - 2012

    Hi all,

I will produce a new rocker for my covert.
The goal is to have two new shock mounting positions:

one resulting in 162 mm Travel with the original shock.
the second one resulting in 170-175 mm with a 200mm X 57mm shock with a BB Height close to the standard or maybe even lower. Head Angle will be between 64,5 - 66 degrees with a 180 mm Fox.

If there is interest in such a thing here in the forum i might not only produce my prototype but maybe a small series.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Best regards

What would the head angle be in the 162mm setting with a Fox 34? How much of an impact will it have on how it pedals?

I have had all kinds of iterations of my covert from 160 Fox 36 with stock rear to the current 150mm Revelation with offset bushings and the stock rear. Currently the head angle feels right, but the offset bushings require me to run more pressure in the rear shock if I care about how it climbs. I am done with the flimsy revelation thou and about to pull the trigger on the 34 which I hope is a happy medium between the weight of the revelation and the travel of the 36. I will start out with the bushings still in place so it should be pretty slack...at least slacker than stock.

Will your link change anything else...ramp rate, etc?

    Ballpark on the cost?

Hi the Ramp Rate will be changed, but only by 6% towards a little more progressive. The fox 34 builds a little shorter than the fox 36 the covert was built for, so if it all works out as planned you will endup with a head angle somewhere round 67,5 with the fox 34 and 66with the fox 36.

I do not have prices for the new rocker yet. i tell as soon as i have them.

    regards

    It is done!

    Hi the rocker is finished.

worked out pretty well, actually on first attempt.

Unfortunately i had to simplify the construction, so for the moment it is limited to 170mm with a 200*57 shock.

Bottombracket stays at the same height as with stock outfit.

could only do a minimal parkinglot check but the feeling of sitting on the bike is gone.

Pricing will depend very much on the number of rockers that need to be done, the price will vary between 300 and 400 $ without bearings made from circal alloy.

Sorry for the bad pics, but its dark and rainy.

    regards Uli
