    Covert 29-er size question

I own a Bandit 29-er, and a TransAm 29-er both in size L. Now I'm actually thinking of getting a Covert 29-er too, but I'm a bit troubled about the size.

The TransAm has a reach of 419mm/16.5", and an effective top tube length of 608mm/23.9".
The Bandit has a reach of 436mm/17.1", and an effective top tube length of 598mm/23.6".

Now looking at the Covert in size L, it has a reach of 414mm/16.3" and an effective top tube length of 589mm/23.2".
A size XL has a reach of 435mm/17.1" and an effective top tube of 614mm
    /24.2".

The reach of a XL Covert comes the closest to my Bandit, what makes me think that would be the right chose, wouldn't it?

What would you guys advice me, to go with a L, or a XL? And why?

I'm about 6' tall (34" inseam) and went with an XL Covert 29. Running a 70mm stem. Fits perfectly. I had an XL Bandit 29 (2012, first year model), but it was slightly too big.

What size you get would also depend on your riding style. From what I was told by the guys at Transition, if you are looking for more of a playful, quick ride, stick with the L like your other bikes. If you're looking for more stability, go bigger. I come from a strictly XC background and our local trails are straight up and then straight down without a lot of technical features, so I sized up for climbing comfort and downhill stability at 35 mph on singletrack.

I agree on basing the sizing on the riding style. If you want to log tons of miles i would go with the xl which will let you stretch out a bit but seems that your bandit would already be the bike of choice for something like that. if you want to tackle more aggressive terrain and be in the air i would go large. Buying a Covert is instantly putting jumps and aggressive ridding into your future which that bike was made for. Another important number you forgot to mention is the wheel base. The covert is 7mm longer than the bandit in large. that in itself will make the bike feel a little bigger along with it being 1 degree slacker.
