    2015 Models- Carbon Flavour?

I have tested a few bikes on my shortlist recently, I loved the Smuggler and it's boiled down to that or a Trek Remedy 9.8, which I also loved, though they were quite different bikes. One of the big positives on the Trek for me was the carbon frame, both in stiffness and weight (I've tested an aluminium Remedy so have a good benchmark).

I've heard carbon versions of the new Transition models mentioned, but no indication on which models and timescales. Anyone got any insight into which of the new models might come in carbon and rough timescales. I'm after a new bike fairly soon, but absolute latest next spring.

I've heard Spring 2015. Also, it will only be the Patrol that is offered in carbon. Hopefully they will offer the Smuggler in carbon eventually...

Thanks, I thought I'd seen a page like that somewhere! Shame if it is indeed only the Patrol and no Scout or Smuggler options, but never mind.

Sure, I'm in the pub this evening but I'll get some thoughts up tomorrow. Both are awesome bikes, so similar in one respect at least!

I chucked my thoughts up here, made more sense to do it on the thread for ride reports on the Smuggler.

No front derailleur support. Might be a deal breaker for me; same with the Smuggler. I have my sights on the Scout.

Ditch the front derailleur and don't look back!

In other news: I would have my credit card out so fast that it would burst into flames, if they came out with a carbon smuggler!

Agreed. As it stands I think I am gonna stick with the Phantom until the Carbon version hopefully appears.

Carbon is good but it's not everything, a bit over rated and expensive.
    Fun is priceless!!

I agree. If I didn't already have the almost exact same bike in the Phantom, I'd be all over it. As it stands, its not different enough to warrant a change.

If I were starting from scratch, I'd get the Smuggler.
