    2015 first run availability

Hey guys, Ive heard a lot recently some dealers are saying march/april and beyond for the newer bikes, which is true only if they have not put in an order yet. There are still online and local dealers that have models available for the first run later this month (westcoast longshoreman slowdown may delay a bit) so check around before giving up.

Any word on when Transition will have another demo day local to Seattle. Got a parking lot test on a Patrol but want a real test on some dirt.

Are you going to get the whole Transition range in shop during this month, or just some models?

should be in soon! As far as other places around the globe I have no idea, and you cant set ETAs with the USA if your somewhere else, some are FOB and some ship from Transition.

depends what you have ordered, but yes, everything is en route at the moment so it should be in port by end of the month and then transported to Ferndale..alot depends on the longshoreman slowdown and how fast they can get everything processed.

I have to admit, these bikes look sweet. Right now, the Scout is my emotional favorite for my next new build - competing with the Ibis HD3. Anyway, does anyone know if Transition will be at the next Outerbike in Moab in the coming March? A head to head test ride is going to decide it for me.

I asked Lars in email exactly that, but it sounds like they don't have the March Outerbike on schedule. However he did say they will likely be at the Sedona MTB Festival in March.

I'm going on a month-long Tahoe>Bend>Hood>Vancouver>Nelson roadtrip in Julyish, and want get a Patrol #1 build before hand. Seeing this thread I feel like I should probably go put money down on one if I want it before April. Sound about right?

Yes, they are sitting in harbor right now waiting to dock and be unloaded. Due to the west coast port slowdown it will take about a week. Sucks, they would probably be here next week if it wasnt for that.

Today Transition said if you were to order one now (12/30) it would be a May delivery. I'm kinda sorta thinking that maybe I should wait for a carbon Patrol if I have to wait that long for an Scout or aluminum Patrol. That carbo Patrol is going to be real nice bike I just don't know if all the travel would be necessary for my use.

It shouldn't be that complicated really.

R&D that ultimately ends up in a frame design.
Talk to vendors about the needs and options for the frame.
    Make contractual agreements with vendors.
Procure a manufacturer (likely from one you've done past business with) for said frame with obligatory contractual agreements for order of units.
Go forth with X number of bikes.
Put bikes in container and ship across Pacific.
    Put butts on seats.

This is an over simplification to be certain but these generally are the steps. So what's the problem? Slow down at the docks, ok understood. However Kona isn't having a problem getting their bikes and they're located in the same town as Transition. Something is array in the process noted above. Somebody isn't upholding their contractual obligation. It can't solely be the docks if other bike companies are getting their's.

Just venting because I've been told I'll be waiting till May

Different factory, Different shipping company, and its KONA, lets make the same reference to Giant or Trek...HUGE ASS companies, larger numbers, different EVERYTHING. Your waiting until MAY because you waited till recently to order and your dealer either made too small a preorder or just ordered when Transition has made it clear to all dealers that preorders were being taken back in September...Thats just a broad breakdown...its apples to oranges

Correct - We do not have a central European distribution warehouse, so availability does vary by country.

I didn't see the Scout in the list of bikes tested, the Smuggler was.

Ah, I was under the impression the scout was in the Bend test fleet....oh well. Thanks for clearing that up. Back to anxiously waiting and pointless conjecture as to where my bike is then I guess...

Knolly Warden or Transition Patrol ??? I had pretty much made up my mind on the Warden, but after watching some videos of the Patrol and reading many of the online reviews, the Patrol has definitely piqued my interest. Any thoughts?? I'm looking at frame only option and doing my own build.

Haha you're posting this question in the wrong section if you want to hear anything besides the Patrol. Get the Patrol!! Knolly is a sick bike but the Patrol takes the cake for me.

Allen, what port are our bikes stuck in? I saw a report about traffic congestion in Seattle due to a surge in trucks entering and exiting the port off I-5. Maybe some progress is being made? (if they're even in that port)

Chad, could you go to check the port again. Rumor says that also the second run is stuck in container in Tacoma port. ;-)

I all reality its dependent on the unloading of the ship in (Seattle)?.
Then needs to go to ferndale then distributed to dealers if I understand it correctly.

Basicly we are dependent on a everyone doing their job smoothly to get what we have already paid for as quick as possible. It gets here when it gets here...

Its the same as dealers saying May for delivery when that was only true if they did not get an order in early enough...different times for everyone, anything can happen but as of now nothing has changed

Yeah, just curious if that is everything you have sold. It's impressive! Although I bet your hands are full this week processing it all.
