So I know this is a long ways off, but the Brunswick Naval Air station is closing soon and that will be around 1500 arces of land. I'm hoping to somehow get involved with IMBA or NEMBA to create a jump park/ skills park on around 3 acres and am wondering where to start. Any suggestions? My reasoning is that the closest "jump area" if you can call it that is an hour north from me and the mid-coast is veryy accessible.
Start by making contact with the closest local club that can interface with whatever governmental agency is taking over the land.
Also, find out who is taking control of the land when the base is closed and what they plan to do with the land. If there's a public input period, get as many people sympathetic to your cause to attend the meetings and/or submit their input. Be included in the planning process from the start.
