Idea! I kneed ideas for my new trail PLEASE help!!!

    Hi everybody.
I live very close to a forest.I live in Croatia and there isnt any trails near by so i started to build my own.I have 5 ramps for now and not mutch more.My forest is very unusual.I would like to build a freeride/dh/am trail.I cant really build a dh trail because my forest isnt downhill it goes a bit a up and a bit down and theres a stream across my place were iam planning to build on.I will put some pics of the place maybe that will help. Its really hard to dig because theres lots of small rutes.Any idease of what i should build?

Was in Croatia this past September. What a fantastic country, great people, excellent food, beautiful country, and a lot of good looking women.

First suggestion is get friends to help.
Depending on size look at pump track examples on internet and YouTube

    Where do you live?
    Send pics.

    Good Luck

It's called a Grape Hoe or an Italian Hoe here in Canada. You should be able to find one at any farm supply store where you are. It's great for small roots and will move a lot of dirt as well.

You just need to move a hell of a lot more dirt. You'll need a wheelbarrow, and plan on digging at least 10 wheelbarrows full every time you go out there. It takes a long time (or many people) to move enough dirt to have good jumps.

If the line is downgradient or side-gradient, it's easier to make it drain, even if you are digging down to make rollers or jumps.

This method of digging down before and after the jump (basically a pit to pit jump) is okay, but it does create a problem of the pits filling up with rain water. The solution for this is to dig a pit even deeper off to the side as a drain (but whether this works or not depends on the soil type; some dirt lets water soak downwards a lot faster than other dirt).

I would suggest planning something like this. 10 feet (3 meters), then gradually build it taller.

Without the gap filled in, it would be called a "double."

I tell people abou the "pyramid" method of building a jump. If you want a jump to be tall, then the base has to be wider than the top.

Even the sides of a table top have to slant out somewhat in order to be durable. Maybe not as much as these, but you get the idea:

Although some people choose not to use logs, if you have lots of logs lying around, you may choose to use them.

    At Keystone:

If you do have access to lumber, consider building stuff like this (pic from Keystone Colorado):
