    Ultrasonic Cleaners

Does anyone use an ultrasonic cleaner? Has anyone had any dealing with the Harbor Freight unit?

Works fantastic on chains. Throw in a dishwasher tab and you are good to go. Works great on cassettes. Depending on the size you may have to rotate it.

I have the little one from Harbor Freight. It works really good except it has a 3 minute timer. So I generally run my chains through several cycles on it. Usually I'm cleaning up other stuff at the same time so it's no big deal. I just add water and some citrus degreaser and let it go. After a few cycles I do a clean rinse and run it a few times with just water.

Works good for any small parts.

    Ultrasonic Cleaners

The one i have will not hold a cassette. They do sell one double the size that probably will. But also double cost. I just dunk my cassettes in a gallon of carb cleaner from autostore. Pull it out the next day and it is super clean.

I've been using an ultrasonic cleaner for the last seven years......it's amazing. Last year I upgraded to a Branson 3510. It makes cleaning chains, cassettes and Chris King hub parts a no brainer.

I use one and wouldn't be without it. It usually has diluted Simple Green in it.
