Piston on calliper stuck and won't retract

I've searched in these forums and can't find the answer I need. I've been reading ppl saying do not press lever without the wheels on. Well what happens if you do?
I left my bike on the work stand after refilling/bleeding my brakes and after coming back to it, my house mate was messing about and started squeezing the lever without the pads or wheel in. Now I've got a piston that will not retract. I've tried with force, unscrewing bleed screw on lever and the thing will not retract.
    Any help?

You'll have to press it in. Park makes a tool specifically for that (of course). I use a metal tire lever. Use something wide enough to distribute the force so you don't mark up the piston. If it doesn't want to go, try lubricating the edges of the piston with a cotton swab dipped in brake fluid. Make sure that you're not pressing it in at and angle and binding it.

Mate! So simple! All good now. I was using a flat head and was on an angle but then did as you said and used the round side of a wrench and "presto!" It popped in and oil went shooting out the lever.
