Park Tool Wheel Truing Stand TS-2.2

Just got a truing stand from park tools, and I think it is out of whack.

When I put the front wheel, the stand indicate that the wheel is a quarter of an inch out of alignment on the right. If I flip the wheel, it say that I still a quarter out of alignment on the right. If the wheel was out of center, flipping it would reverse the misalignment from right to left. This indicate that the calipers (things that rubs against the rim) are out of alignment.

BUT when I put the rear wheel, which has a larger axle length, it now say that the wheel is a quarter out of alignment on the left. Flipping the wheel still indicate misalignment on the left.

It feels like when I widen the truing stand to accept the wider rear wheel, the arms don't move at the same rate. In fact, placing a T-square on the stand, and measuring where each side of the T are on a sheet of paper, I see this happening.

Has anyone seen that? For $200, its a big disappointment.

    Thanks for input

Also, did you read the instructions that actually come packed in the box with the TS-2.2?

    http://www.parktool.com/products/doc...09108_3638.pdf

"However, slight imperfections in the shape or condition of the
axle and/or locknuts can significantly affect the dish
reading. As a result, for precision work, a dishing
gauge such as the Park Tool WAG-3 or WAG-4 should
be used to verify and make final adjustments."

Maybe you should have bought the TS-8 with only one moving support?
Hey everybody, ride my wheels! They ride good, real good.
