Need to re-route rear brake cable

Wanted to know if it's easy to re-route my rear brake cable...the only area I need to re-route is the last foot or so of cable that goes along the chainstay and into the brake calliper.

It's currently on the outside of the chainstay and my heal rubs it...there is a 'boss' (sp?) on the bottom of the chain stay that isn't used...and that's where I want to route it.

Can I unscrew the cable from the calliper and then screw it back in...is that how it works? I'm brand new to hydraulic/disks. FYI - I'm good with wrenching on my road bike (have assembled one bike from a frame).

I have 2012 SRAM xo brakes.

    Thx from a noob.

I would just unbolt the rear brake caliper and reroute then remount the caliper instead of disconnecting the hose. Take off the rear wheel to make it easier if you haven't already.
    Help, I'm a rock!

Opening the hose will require a full bleed, it would be much, much easier to relocate the whole caliper properly.

Thanks. Removing the calliper was easy. I have no exp with hydraulic disk brakes so I'm going to start looking for some in depth information on them...if anyone has suggested reading please pass along (FYI I have SRAM xo brakes).
