Minoura FT-1 combo.

Have anybody used it? Any good or bad?
I know Park tools one is the best, but $$

Never used it personally, but it looks like a sound design, and on Amazon it is not much more expensive than the "home mechanic" truing stand. I can't imagine that it wouldn't perform better than it, either.

In an effort to not link to another forum, google search 'minoura FT-1 review' and check the fifth result. There is a longish thread there.

Yeah, that's the one. I know one person saying a solid 'it works' isn't exactly what you were looking for, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot out there.

I emailed the company and was told that the combo does not support 29er....so I am dropping it...

Update. It does accepted 29er, per update info on website.

You have to consider if that means 29'er with the tire or not. If the truing stand will work with a 700c wheel then it will work with a 29'er wheel without the tire. Obviously if you are running tubeless that will become an issue, however it takes no more than an extra minute to remove and install the tire/tube, so this truing stand may still be an option for you.
