    Let's do the drill!

Yes, the title refers to drilling a hole in your frame for an internally-routed cable/hose. In my case, for a Reverb Stealth.

They said "Don't do it", "It's not worth the risk". But sometimes defiance is the only way to find out. Here we go!

    "X" marks the spot.

    About to pull the trigger..

    No turning back now..

    Almost done..

Rough on the edges. But filing and sanding will finish it off.

We're in business! The port is ready!

    The "fetcher" goes in..

..And out to get the Reverb's.

"DIY" can sometimes mean "Destroy It Yourself". So unless you know what you're doing, do not attempt to modify your bike frame especially if it involves drilling and/or removing material. I dont think youll have any issue with where you drilled that hole. Ive put plenty of holes in frames (although chromoly steel) to mount things like fuel lines, etc, and have never had an issue with the hole cracking or the frame failing. These holes are on this chassis(Chassis Gallery | RON COX RACING), and they have seen plenty of stress, more than that bike will ever experience.

Ive had a hole in the lower part of my downtube for several years now on an aluminum EX7, and it hasnt cracked, or anything.

Some frames are easier than others.
