How to build a Toolkit for a Giant Talon

    Good Morning All.

Can you offer any advice on how I go about compiling a list of tools required to carry out a full rebuild on a Giant Talon?

    Many Thanks

A toolkit for a full rebuild would involve a lot of tools you'll only use once maybe twice and are really over the top for a home mechanic (Headset bearing press and extractors for example). In my opinion it's far easier to have most of the tools and then just take your frame to a decent bike shop to get the smaller things done. Normally they will do it while you wait if its a quick job and your friendly.

I've just finished building up my new bike and have finished purchasing the last few tools I consider what I require to work on my bike in the shed. See the list below, its in three sections (general tools, bike specific tools, spares and consumables). The actual order of the tools is the order I just pulled them out of my tool box. This is the kit I've build up for fixing my bikes and taking to enduro events.

Obviously you can make your kit as big or small as you require. Most regarded tool companies sell starter, home mechanic and workshop tool kits as a set. Have a look at getting one of those and go from there.
