    Grease gun,..?

are you using one? what brand? how's it work for you?

Was watching hope's little vids on youtube and noticed the little grease gun he uses and it looks like a much better way than getting it all over like I normally do. Always thought about one but never really looked at the diff models and such. Seems most "bike" grease guns are made to screw the tube of grease to the bottom.. but I noticed the one Hope uses is like a standard inline unit...

also thought about just getting a syringe and filling it with grease....?

I like the Dualco, especially with an extension tip. They work well and last forever.

that's the one with the little jar you fill with your own grease right? not one that you screw the tube to? Kinda like both ideas as just screwing the tube to the bottom seems easy and clean.. but thinking the tubes are kinda bulky and may get in the way...?

plus that one looks like it'll stand on it's own.. keeping the tip cleaner...?

Yeah, you have to fill them which may not be the most convenient method but on the plus side you can use any grease. I always bought tubes or tubs and filled the gun using a campy peanut butter wrench which only takes a few seconds. They do stand on their own nicely.

Dualco is the most common I've seen. I really think being able to use any grease is a necessity. None of the grease I like to use comes in tubes.

I use a 60cc syringe with an angled tip. It's really good for laying a thin bead of grease onto contact surfaces - plus I can use cheap marine grease in places where no special grease is required (pretty much everywhere except high-end bearings).

what grease do you use there Customfab? I've been just using either Parks basic tube I get at the shop or the Phil woods stuff.. which ever the shop I am at at the time has... thinking it's gun and tub time

I've been using that for a few years now, way better than any pump on that comes with a tube of bike grease.
