    Full Suspension Pivot Points

    Hi All,

I have recently purchased my first full suspension bike (Trek Fuel EX8) and just wondering what lubricant is best for routine maintenance of the pivot points? Ideally just looking for a lubricant that can be applied after cleaning to protect the pivot points without the need to take them apart.

Sorry if this has been asked before but Google hasn't really given me a definitive answer.

    Thanks in advance.

Anything you apply on the surface without taking things apart is just going to attract dirt and do more harm than good. Just keep them clean.

In my experience, I get longer bearing life by not washing my bike with a hose. Ever. If it's muddy/dirty, let it dry, brush off the worst of it, then use a rag to finish cleaning.

As AM said, nothing, anything you put there will attract dirt and grime, just wash it with a bucket of hot soapy water, rinse (preferably hot water so it'll evaporate quicker) and dry. If you want to apply lube, do that to the chain
One day your life will flash before your eyes, will it be worth watching??

There are sealed bearings in the EX frame (at least there are in my 2010). I did open them up the first summer and the bearings had very little grease inside. I re-packed with pedros synthetic & been fine ever since.

I agree with the above, don't try to apply anything from the outside.
