I tried searching and cant find out which freewheel remover I need.
I have a 2009 Shimano Deore Cassette. I had purchased a Park Tools FR-1 freewheel remover but it it slightly too large for the lockring. Is the FR-5 the correct tool?
Well, helps to keep freewheel and freehub type cassettes separate. More than likely you have a cassette that fits on a freehub rather than a freewheel type cassette. You need the FR-5 or similar...
Your right. I got the two confused. My cassette fits onto a freehub not a free wheel. I guess I have a spare tool in my toolbox now. Thanks for clarifying.
I have yet to ride it. I get the rest of my parts in today. Switching dropped my GT Peace 9er 3.5 pounds. Getting rid of the 436 gram Deore Cassette helped.
