Crackle sound when i pedal hard?
so when i am pedaling, whether its up a hill, or just on flat land, a weird sound comes from what sounds like my bottom bracket. i am a heavy rider (240) so is it just a lot of weight on the pedals, or does it need to be greased/cleaned. it just started recently, and have had bike for like 8 or 9 months now.

You might get more help on this one if you post in the drivetrain section.
What type of bottom bracket does the bike have? If it's the square taper type then try tightening the crank arm bolts, loose crank arms are a very common cause of the noise you describe.

It could be a BB creak, but normally when a customer tells me "my bottom bracket is creaking" I hear "my bike is creaking, will you please fix it". If you can give me specifics I can give suggestions on what to check.

My first question iswheat are you doing when the sound starts? For example if ONLY when pedaling and only one side, my first place to look would be the pedal, could be the bearings are loose. Where does it sound to you the sound is coming from? Sometimes it is the seat rails just need a little grease on them where the seatpost clampss onto them. Sometimes it is the seatpost, just needing a little grease on it. Hard to help diagnose a sound problem with out more detail, please? Good luck!

If you're using a quick release, is it tight? You wouldn't believe how often it's a loose QR
