    change cleats?

I just bought some new shimano xt pedals, should I change out my old cleats as well? I've had the cleats on for about 6 months. They do not look worn out...your thoughts

No need. Just change the cleats when they're worn past your own standards.

Most people I've talked to change their cleats every couple years. I've only been riding clip less for a couple years now and I'll be putting new cleats on sometime this year probably. It mainly depends on how much you ride, what conditions you ride in, and like someone already said, when you want to change them/when they feel worn out to you. Keep your current cleats on and throw an extra cleat in your seat bag/camelbak. It's rare, but you can break a cleat bolt or deform a cleat to the point it's not useable and it's good to carry an extra. I've heard too many odd stories like this so I always have an extra cleat setup with me while riding.
