    Tires for riding in bahrain/desert

Leaving Indonesia and off to Bahrain in September. In the process of pimping the motolite for dry flat dessert conditions. looking for more of a light xc build. currently have dt swiss 5.1 d and i will be putting these on the spare bike and adding dt swiss 14350s to the motolite. swapping shimano saint breaks for magura sls along with carbon bars. I will be riding on road and desert trails. I can get Maxxis detonators and overdrives. What would be best for these conditions please? Other tire brands welcome to but not sure i will be able to get here? thanks

I wouldn't get the ones you are listing.. .

You would be best asking over in the wheels/tire forum.

I haven't found the best tires for sand over hard pack yet. If trying to rail corners, proper weight distribution seems to be the most key. I'd stay away from tires with a continuous center tread pattern so your tire doesn't slide over the sand so easy like stepping on Marbles.

    Look into
    Maxxis Crossmark
    Maxxis Ikon
Kenda Slant 6 or smallblock 8
Specialized has many options available world wide

all offered in a 2.1 and light versions
