Something to watch for on the EG
This popped up on Facebook. Its the first one I have seen or heard of. Seems it is the exact same place the old ML stays used to break.
Weren't ML's breaking at the other side??
At any rate it sucks... not good for current state of affairs for Titus.
I hope it's just a one off...
Dang! That is the first one I've seen broken on an EG. I guess the spare rear triangle is a good idea.
That is the 2010 model so maybe my '09 will be less likely to break.
How much would be fair for an extended warranty (up to 2 years) on your 2008-2011 frame?
With a $50-$75 deductible, perhaps.
I'm trying to convince the new regime that it is in their best interests to offer this to current and future owners.
I'd be all for that. I'm harder then most on my EG and mine is showing no signs of cracking, I never cracked the ML stay either. Could be a one off, I noticed the guy is running Azonic Outlaw wheels, could be a sign that he is riding full FR on the bike. I hate to bring this up on the site but I feel it is a safety concern and that all 2010 EG owners should keep an eye on it.
EDIT: Maybe they arent outlaws?
Any more photos of that weld?
Thanks for posting this, just checked mine no signs of a crack.
Yeah they are pretty heavy duty for the EG, about 150 grams too heavy each. I responded to the guy on FB and asked him about his set-up and riding, I will let you know what he says.
You're right on the wheelsets, they are not Azonic Outlaws. They are Sun Ringle MTX 33 Camo rims.

... I'm watching all the time! I've broken 2 alum. seat-stays on my ML. I now have the CF one on there but I haven't ridden it very much since I got my EG...
So for my 'insurance policy'... I picked up a complete rear triangle from Ben a couple of months back. I want to ride the EG as long as possible!

Glad I've got the old beefy 2008. I'd still buy a spare rear end if they had any of the 07-08's laying around.
shoptitus site is down.. how much Titus charge to replace a broken 2010 seat stay?

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common
Those are pretty burly
even for an El Guapo. I run the MTX 31's on my Delirium and I think they are overkill, they are super beefy. The user could have been hucking quite a bit.

Good move for a revision. Seems like the frame-spares are being repackaged into less confusing and better all-round packages than before. I had a hard time trying to guess and hope the spares I bought was correct in the old site.

is that a flexy QR on the rear wheel?
Interesting, broken stays are not a Titus exclusive thing. I wonder if flexi non-Shimano QR are causing the broken stays?

If I disagree with you, it's because you are wrong.

No response from him, I've been checking mine after every ride, no problems yet!
