    OT - My daily commute...

    Traffic, Traffic, more traffic...

    View outside our offices...

    Makes me wanna ride...

Warp's cage... Note the privacy I can enjoy...

I really dislike this city, but hey... here's where I get money to pay the bills and the occasional bike parts.

Just wanted to share (and vent a little)...

IT'S NOT THE FALL THAT HURTS. IT'S WHEN YOU HIT THE GROUND.

Yeah, but they're on the opposite wing of the office and the rest were out for lunch.

I can't have a telephone conversation without everybody to know what I'm talking about... I don't get warmed up to this open space stuff. Especially when me and other two co-workers sometimes handle information that should not be heard/seen by the rest.

Oh, well... here's where I get to work.

AM, thanks for the compliments... I'm sure you're in the same guise for yours. No coffee cup on the desk... we use disposable cups as this open space stuff requires to keep a consistant look all around, so if you let everyone to have their cup, posters, you name it, the place ends up looking like crap. With cubicles it would have been more tolerable.

I also wanted to depict some of the city... this is a relatively new development area of offices and high level apartments. However it's crappily planned. The access roads are insufficient and services are not quite here.

That open concept crap is for the birds adn big brother...my buddy worked in such a space...I think they called their storage lockers "barns"....you just showed up each day, pulled your work implements out of the barn and found your little piece of heaven for the day surrounded by your coworkers....they tried to numb the masses with starbucks and godiva chocolates and whatnot...no thanks, I'll take the burned sludge out of a stained decanter and a door anyday.

Course the only thing ti I own is a seatpost...and a watch I dont wear.

    tough commute, man!

although San Jose is many times smaller, traffic can pretty bad... on the other hand here in Saarbrücken... 5 cars in a row are a traffic jam already I mean there are some queues here and there at rush hour, but it is quite mellow, since it is a small town and Germans know their traffic management pretty well...

well...... life is not full of non-suck stuff.

If it makes you feel any better, I work in the automotive industry, and.....

    1. I have a micromanaging supervisor.
    2. I go on business trips a lot, especially during mtbking racing season.
    3. I work over 50hrs/wk, 60+during business trips.
    4. I get my balls broken by customers and headquarters.
    5. The company I work for is run by managers who don't know what they are doing.

But I get to travel a lot..... Vegas 5 times, Arizona 5 times, Colorado 3 times, Canada 2 times, Japan several times........ but too bad I can't bring my bike.....
