New to me 2009 Titus FTM

    Hello All,

I purchased my first full suspension bike last night and decided to go with the Titus FTM. I am pretty stoked and can't wait to ride it. I am going through it now to make sure everything is tight and greased. I have searched through this forum trying to learn everything I can about this bike. Is there anything special I should know? I am coming from a 2008 GT Zaskar Expert so I know this will be a huge improvement.

Looks like you picked a pretty nice one for your first full susp. I dig the green over white.

Get your shock Push'd after this riding season. You'll notice a drastic difference.

    Nice bike!

Keep watch on the derailleur hanger. Make sure it's perfectly straight. A bent one can do major damage to your drivetrain and spokes if it lets the chain go over the big cog.
Have a spare hanger with you in case of calamity.

Check the shock and rear triangle bearing, bushings for looseness regularly.

Experiment with shock settings front and rear.

Ride hard. But keep it clean and lubed.

Double check the bolt that goes through the eye on the shock shaft/rocker. They are known to bend.

Thanks for the additional information it's very much appreciated. I did 25 miles on the Titus Saturday and probably 20 on Sunday. I must say this bike is awesome and am happy with my purchase. Unfortunately I snapped the hanger off towards the end of the day Sunday, but other then that I love the bike.

Bummer on the hanger. I really liked mine and the more I want to race the more I'm missing my '09 ftm. Especially since we bought my wifes 2010 ftm last week

Yeah I crashed so it was 100% my fault. I can't get too mad about that.

Nice I bet she'll love it.
