Issue with my RP23 on Ti ML 2008

Well, I got my RP23 back from Fox warranty, due to my complaint that the unit squeaked upon compression, they completely rebuilt it including the air sleeve. Now there is no squeaking but when you compress the shock, it makes a slight "thunk" feeling at the instant the shock rebounds. It almost feels like stiction. I took the air sleeve off and you can feel the same sensation when compressing the piston only. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

if it's stiction, it might go away after you break it in...

... anyway, why does every, individual shock always seem to have its own little quirks?
i need to develop my crashing skills...

If the shock does this when the air sleeve is removed, you did the test to isolate the damper as the problem (of course, needing to go back for service). It could be a variety of things, especially dependent on which side was up when you did the test. Could be a bad bleed, could be the valve assembly, etc.

I would make them aware, but also ride one to two trips to see if it subsides after that.
