The Handsome One Demo finds a new home.

So I hear that beautiful orange demo in size large found its way to Nevada.

Sooo nice. Climbs almost as well as the HH100x and descends almost as well as the Delirium T.

Basking in the late September glow.

    Isnt it an amazing bike?

I love mine. If you havent bought it, you should. Probably the most under-rated/unknown 6' bike out there. Try putting the rocker in the other hole, I like it better.

Actually a friend bought it. He's just getting back into the sport and wanted a bike he wouldn't outgrow too soon. I asked him how much he wanted to spend and he said "I'd rather cry once and fortget about it". So I start emailing him links of really nice used bikes in the $2500-3000 range and before I know it he's gone and ordered the EG ("It looks cool and I really like those wheels, and it matches my motorcycle" ).

Unfortunately (for him) it shows up at his house right as he's leaving town for the weekend so I told him I'd put it together and take it on a little test ride for him to "make sure everything is working OK".

The only downside to all this is, I was having a great time shopping vicariously for him and he went and pulled the trigger on the first link I sent him. Don't get me wrong, it's a great bike, but he coulda dragged this out a week or two and kept me entertained. Sheesh.

I sent him this link today just to see if he'd bite (he's got a disease for buying toys).

On a side note, this was my first real ride since my broken elbow/wrist episode 6 weeks ago and it went really well. It was a regular 12 mile moderately rough trail that I was able to ride at 75-80% of my normal pace. I'm encouraged.

    That's more like it...

... but you had me there for a minute. Glad to hear you're feeling better. As far as I know, I will be in the valley this Thanksgiving, so if you feel the need for some 'SMC - SoMo Chunk', let me know!

BTW - just got back from Brian Head We should have some pics and vids posted up soon!

I'm pretty sure the EG is the most loved bike I've ever seen. Demo'ed rides for two years, finally found Bob and pulled the trigger. Never happier with any bike I've owned.

What happens when you put the rocker in the other hole? Are little EGs conceived or is it just a handling change?

Obviously a different spring curve. It seems plusher in the first half of the stroke and more progressive at the end. I thought I remembered somebody saying it was for coil shock use but I have never heard anything official out of Titus.

What did you think of our local DH haunt? Pretty gnarly eh? Did you notice my handiwork on Timberline? The hip/wallride and stepdown just behind the "ninja jump" were built this summer by my brother and I.

Timberline was my favorite run on the mountain. I think we hit it 3 or 4 times on Saturday and that hip/wallride behind the ninja jump was awesome. It wasn't too big or too small...it was just right. I couldn't get enough of Timberline. I was wishing that the lift was open later than 4:30.

... I opted for another 'Schweet' run down Blowhard while the 'youngsters' played at the bike park. Saving something for next year with my new DH sled..??? Hopefully, I'll also have some more 'skillz' next year too !

Maybe the new boostvalve rp23 is tuned for the top position since it's supposed to be more coil-like??

Now I'm curious to try this other shock position. Anybody know where I can find the torque specs for the bolt?

    No Contact

After reading that whole thread on the "other hole", I have not had any contact between the stays and mainframe and I bottomed it pretty good the other day off a 6' drop to flat. It definetly makes the curve more progressive. I think the 2010 RP23 is crap. Mine has virtually zero propedal in any setting. To get proper sag I needed to run over 220 psi and I weigh 180. I have my HV can shimmed and now I can run about 150-160 psi. I tried the DHX 5 from my DT in the "air" hole and it felt kinda dead, maybe I should try it in the coil hole. My big question is, why is that hole there?

@ same mileage. But I haven't tried to put the rp23 bv in the coil hole yet.

PP3 is only faintly noticeable on steep tech climbs w/ all the weight on the rear. I only feel it w/ the can completely shimmed and above 200psi. And it only kind-of holds the travel @ 50%. Way too weak, needs to be above 30%.

I thought it was just me. I couldn't figure out which way to put the lever for propedal because it felt about the same either way (I finally settled on blue lever to the left side for no propedal, is that right?)

My buddy has 200 lbs in the shock and is still sagging 35-40% and he weighs about 200lbs.

Lever toward the schrader valve is "open"

So, to the right looking at it from a riding position. To the left is propedal. Mine has no difference whatsoever. KRob, have your buddy shim the can, doesnt do much for the lack of propedal but you can reduce the pressure and get the correct sag.

I think if it is switched away from the air valve it is open if next to valve it is propedal on!! On mine anyway.
