Frame Building "Part 2"- Carbon Frame Manufactering Video (Cyfac)

"The video shows carbon tube assembly and "Carbon Stratification" which is basically their multi-layer reinforcing procedure. In this process, they combine custom molded carbon fiber tubes, epoxy, and three layers of carbon - Kevlar, serge carbon (twill) and taffetas carbon (crisp, smooth, plain woven)."

Quote from Ron at the Cozy Beehive.

This method of Carbon frame building has some obvious draw backs. The most obvious is that the different fiber layers of stratified composites are particularly vunerable to bending stresses at the side of the composite joints where the lower denier fibers are located, or in other words, the frame is not as stiff as a homogeneous carbon composite frame would be.

I love the music on this video!

    Happy Trails,

I would hope they vacuumed bagged it or better yet autoclaved it. Kind of scary.
