This method of Carbon frame building has some obvious draw backs. The most obvious is that the different fiber layers of stratified composites are particularly vunerable to bending stresses at the side of the composite joints where the lower denier fibers are located, or in other words, the frame is not as stiff as a homogeneous carbon composite frame would be.
