    El Guapo Rear Shock

I would like to know what rear shock do you guys have and your opinions about them.

What do you think is the best shock for EG??

Im a little bit disapointed with the monarch, i think it has too much low speed compression, even with ifp tunning. Love the monarch middle stroke but i would like to have a more sensitive initial stroke shock.

Anyone has Monarch Plus RC3? Low or Middle Tune?

    Thanks

No, they won't. Push isn't tuning or selling rockshox air shox anymore.Check the website, and there are two threads in the suspension forum about it:

    Pushed Monarch Shocks No More?

I too didn't care for the stock monarch rt3. I have been riding a rockshox vivid air r2c, which is pretty badass for a stock shock.[ mid-tune]. I'm now trying a monarch plus rc3 mid-tune, which isn't broken in yet, but feels much better than the rt3 ever did.

Well thats fair. Darren obviously want making money selling and tuning RS shocks or SRAM cut his supply off. I know when mine was serviced there was a two week delay because of "parts", I wonder if they were waiting on the new air cans? I'm glad they are still servicing the shocks they have worked on. I think the 2011 monarch felt better then the 2012 I received on my EG, I dont know if RS changed something or not but the stock tune was the same.

What shock feels better? Vivid or monarch plus?
I'm still thinking low tune is better to EG in the upper hole.

Too early to tell. I just got the monarch plus a week ago, then got sick. First ride on it was tonight, and the shock takes about 6 hours to break in, The monach plus on my 5spot felt crappy at first, and after about six hours, it felt great.
    The vivid is pretty awesome.
I disagree with you on the tune; both of my shocks are mid tune, and it feels right.

Any updates on rear shocks and El Guapos? Have been reading quite a bit about how the CCDB Coil and Air may not work well with low leverage ratio frames. Anyone, any knowledge, feel free to share.

What's your weight? On the lighter side?

there's a $10 adapter from RS that can be used on the Monarch to tweak the negative chamber... does make a diff without having to change out the tune (not that I be able to DIY anyway).

If use on the Plus-- just need to dremel a bit to fit.

I'm running a Marzocchi Roco Air RC World Cup and I absolutely love it. I wasn't very happy with my Monarch. I also ran a custom tuned Avalanche Chubbie that was awesome too. The Roco feels very similar to the Chubbie, but a bit lighter. In addition, being able to tune the air pressure for various trail situations is nice.

On the first ride my Monarch RT3 was rather harsh. Gonna check what will be later. Im planning to change to a coil shock, Fox dhx rt4, for instance.
