2.5 tyres on an El Guapo

Looking to get into the downhill scene and until I'm in a position to buy a full on downhill rig I was going to use the EG with some beefier tyres. So will the bike take a 2.5 tyre?

Depends on the tire, but it will be tight at best.

There are plenty of 2.3" DH tires that will do the job.

Thanks for the reply, will look into the options. Guess it all depends whether I could actually get them onto my rim as well.

    Shouldn't be a problem running a 2.5 upfront with a 2.3 out back?

Fork/frame clearance is your limiting factor, not the rims.

    Mixing sizes is fine.

Yeah, will see if I can borrow some 2.5's for a test fit, no big deal if they won't fit. Currently have 2.3 barons front and rear and there is still a lot of clearance on my Lyriks

I'm still trying to find something as tall as that Trail king, don't need the width for climbing

Looked on your site for specs, do you remember if Chunky Monkey is taller than 27"?

I ran a 2.5 DHF on my EG with a 170mm lyric and a 2.4 High Roller 2 on the rear with plenty of clearance.

Excellent, I'm on a 170mm Lyrik so will probably go for something similar
