180mm rear disc racer X frame, will it fit?

Can i run 180mm disc at the rear on my racer x frame?

Brought some brakes said they were 160mm turns out there 180mm wondering if i should send them back or not.

    Thanks

Send them back. If it fits or not, that bike is not designed for a 180 rear brake.

What will be the consequence of running a bigger disc?

Bigger rotor = Better braking for heavy downhills
    No downside except more weight.
Given the likely purpose of the bike, i doubt you'll benefit from it.
The rotor could hit the chainstay. You should be able to tell be looking at it with a rotor on it.
Given that you have the option of sending it back...

I have 180mm on my RX29 for several years now. No problem. But I agree that you should set it up 160mm like it is supposed to be set up. There's not a whole lot of clearance ... About 2mm.
