We lost some trails at Leon Creek...
I went riding yesterday to give the new 29er a try. I had a great ride but it was cut short. As I was coming out of the Bird Sanctuary I ran into an older couple. They informed me that it was private property and they were going to start enforcing it.
Major bummer since that area has some great winding single track through the woods.
Let's make like a MTBer and get the Huck outta here...

Were they going to put up signs for "private property?"
I'd keep riding it until the signs are there.
Nice ride BTW!

It was great. It was a last minute ride trying to beat the cold front coming in. Bike really ate up the trails. I did some light drops and it felt great.

what pedals are you running?

Yea that's a bummer.
Are you going to be riding during the holidays? I'd love to see what the hometown trails have to offer.

Those are Spank Spike pedals. They are great. With the right shoes they could be awesome.

There is still plenty to ride for sure but that area is really nice for my wife who doesn't like the rough stuff.

If anyone else wants a part of the action chime in.

That sounds good to me...where's the best place to meet? I usually ride Walnut, Barton Creek, and Slaughter Creek in Austin.

I usually drop in at the Leon Creek entrance of Bandera/Mainland. It's right next to the Walmart.

I'll be starting at op. But if you live close to another trail head we can meet out on the trail.

Do you climb to the tower and head down through the park when you start at OP?

I usually start by dropping in on one of the trails near the pavilion and head straight for the big jump in the creek.

I'll meet you at the main OP parking lot at 9am, might have another rider with me. Will be in a Honda Element with Hawaii plates.

I was back there in the back of Bamberger on Thursday/Friday of last week, and saw those signs. If it's private it's private.....they should have enforced it long ago rather than allowing everyone to believe it was public. I'd like to know where the actual property line is...that is nice flowey single track back there for sure.
The signs I saw were on the Bamberger side of Old Babcock....not in Bird's of Prey. Were there some on the other side?
