Good place to camp in Waco?

I'll be driving up from Houston to check out Cameron Park on Saturday and since they don't have overnight camping there, I was wondering if anyone had any recs on where to crash for the night?

I looked at dino valley and solavaca ranch but an extra 1.5 hours driving in the wrong direction might be at my limit.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think Lake Waco is the only camping areas in Waco.

Trails will be wet as we've had light rain all day...

Yeahhhh, I was worried about that. How wet/rideable would you guess Cameron will be?

Thanks for the response by the way

It's only sprinkled on & off so it may not be too bad. The trails were dry earlier in the week so there shouldn't be any mud(If I'm remembering correctly). There's always the chance that the park didn't see much rain.

There's also Woodpark Park trails but they stay wet longer than Cameron Park does.

Cameron park drains well. The river trail will be the muddiest place you encounter. Watch out for the "green rocks", they will be slick. I was out there Wednesday and it was tacky. Have fun!

Conroe got a bunch of rain last night, I'm guessing waco did the same. I think I'll put this one on hold unless a local says otherwise....

Waco just had light rain/mist. Nothing in my rain gauge, just enough to get everything wet.

This coming week looks nice but next weekend, I think, is suppose to get cold again. Not sure about the wetness.
