Thank you for your support. Getting people to sign is the first step in what I am sure is a LOOOONG process (reading up on the Valmont page that it took 15 years!).

    definitely signed!

back in the late 80's & early 90's when we were building the 9th street jump park we had to fight the city to no end before they finally capitulated. hopefully in this case the city will be more receptive, less obstinate, and the skills park will materialize quickly.

    Thanks for signing!
The goal number is strictly for motivation purposes. The cogs are turning on this one, I've already met with the CoA once already and am working towards the next meeting!

I'll say they were impressed that we had 300+ signatures for the initial meeting.

    Hey, thanks for checking in!

Yes, there is progress. I've met with one PARD employee and am working on getting another meeting with another PARD rep on the books - the holidays have been incredibly busy for me, so it had to go on the back burner for a month there.

The first employee was wonderful and receptive - of course, he is a mountain biker that just moved from managing the PARD in Durango (iirc, might have been Grand Junction). Either way, he is familiar with bike parks, pump tracks and their implementation. He walked me through what is required and what to expect.

What needs to happen next is getting a real list of CoA PARD lands that would work as a location. We have a pretty primo spot in mind, but we need several to propose as viable options.

I'll say he was impressed that we had 300+ signatures in the couple of weeks we had been up and running. He simply advised patience and persistence in the process, as it takes a lot of both.

It will, but reality is that it is going to take years and years.

Just a quick update here -
Had a good phone meeting this week with a PARD coordinator. We will be sitting down within the next couple of weeks with PARD site planners to establish the best location for a facility like this. Then comes the sight design and establishment of a Parkland Improvement Agreement which will allow us to seek funding for construction.

Please keep spreading the word so that we can keep getting signatures. We are over the 400 mark, thanks to you!
