    cactus protection gear for stoker

posted this on the Arizona page too, hope a double post is ok...
Wife and I are getting a mountain tandem. Thinking that cactus defeating chaps would make sense for the stoker. Seems that shin armor is the only thing available that might help. Is there anything else that would do the job better? Anyone got any ideas?

My favorite suggestion from the arizona page was "don't run into cactus?" lol

I don't keep current on all the MTB downhill gear, but I know the motocross world pretty well. You could get some relatively light weight (possibly youth model) shin guards that would serve this purpose. Maybe wear some tall, thin socks underneath to limit the straps rubbing?

Being in Tucson, I appreciate your stokers concerns.......where are you located? If So AZ, message me and we'll hit Fantasy Island, or some other rides. We get out on our Fandango regularly...
