Where to buy a 24" Surly Ogre for delivery in Europe ?

    Hello folks,

I have a big problem, and I am very sad because I just learned that my Surly Ogre frame that I ordered in Germany will not be available soon.
What's happening at Surly, they are struggling to provide their bikes?
I wish to know if you have addresses of bicycle shops in Europe or USA that could deliver me a 24" Surly Ogre in France (complete bike or only the 24" frame)?

    Thank you guys

    Hi,

I've struggled to find a shop that can provide me a KM in France too.

You can contact the only Surly's retailer in France: Bike a Lot in Saint-Médard (Lot).
He knows Peter from Surly and he can order directly to QBP.

    Hello there from the UK.

Still new here so can't post links, but try looking for charliethebikemonger . com he ships around the world and if he dosen't have it in stock should be able to get it in a few days.

Had a quick look, 24" frames are out of stock with UK importer (may be one out in a shop somewhere) but 24" completes are available, Charlie dosen't list everything yet and might still have some 2011 spec KM frames on special as well as complete 2012s

I don't work for him, he is a cult figure on the Euro/UK singlespeed circuit and i think i can safely say the big cheese surly shop here in the UK, have a look at his website and send him an email, really helpfull little shop, had stuff off him, quality service.

Or try getting in touch with Patrick Joscelyne at Ison distribution in the UK.
He helped me out last year when i was looking for an older model Pugsley.

I've made an order for an 18'' ogre in bike-components.de from the 4th of May and have nothing yet. I've contact them 3-4 times and they really don't know when there will be available. As i can see from their site now all ogre frames are unavailable (20 days or more...).

I hope surly will send them soon !!!

i think 22" will be good, but the 24" ogre should be better.

For me the most important is the length of your inseam. In my case I have a 40" inseam.
    And you ?

I've just contact them once more and they told me that it might be available on the end of july. This is more than a month and still not sure for that.

On the other hand the 2012 KM is available as well as the el mariachi. Maybe I should consider modifying the order?

Have you tried contacting Ison Distribution ?
    And ask for Patrick Joscelyne.
If they have them, he can ship it out to a LBS with an QBP account.

Rabies and others you can see Ison stock levels on Rabies link.
Frames are all O/S out of stock, expected mid to late july, and i read Luss'es other thread, they have changed the 24" complete to O/S ?
I know the UK fatbikers have trouble sometimes getting stuff, surely there must be something somewhere in a shop ? in Europe.

Thats because Ison are the UK dealer and have to list prices inculding UK Tax. There may be some way to purchase from them (through a supporting shop) without paying the UK tax, tho i think you have to be outside the EU for that to happen.

The only way you can order without VAT is if you live outside EU or have some kind of business/company. Which is not my case...

Just contacted the german shop about stocks. Basically, they don't know when the Ogres will be back in stock.
The only other place that I know of, besides Charlie, with Ogres in stock is singlespeed.nl. The problem is that over there the price goes up to 480€. from 370€ in the german shop.
I really like to Ogre, but that price is more in the range of more "boutique" brands, and a little too much for a bike that I consider mostly utilitarian

Today I had great news. Bike-components send me an email with dispatch date on the 6th of July. 2 days ago in a conversation with them they had told me that it was most probable that the frame would be delivered on the first week of August. Finally they somehow found an 18'' ogre frame and hopefully will be on my hands next week
